Sunday morning we'll be getting dressed for church in our Sunday best. You know, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the preparation of the gospel, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and finally the sword of the Spirit. If for some reason you thought you had to wear a tie, forget about it.
The text, of course, will be Ephesians 6:14-17:
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.Make sure that these aren't just your Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes, but your every day battle gear. See you Sunday.
