Reading Your Bible

Did you know that one of the best predictors about whether you will make good decisions in life is your pattern of Bible reading? Those who read their Bible four or more times a week will base their decisions on what they read from the Bible while those who read their Bible three or fewer times per week will make their decisions based on their feelings! It is really that simple.

According to the Center for Bible Engagement reading your Bible four or more times per week is a key predictor of your success as a Christian. You can read more about their findings here.

There is an excellent program (The Discipleship Journal® Bible Reading Plan) to read through the Bible in a year. It can be downloaded at http://www.navpress.com/Magazines/DiscipleshipJournal/OriginalBibleReadingPlan
I like this plan because it splits each days reading into four parts. Part one in the Old Testament, part two in the Psalms/Proverbs, part three in the Gospels, and part four in the New Testament. The other nice thing about the plan is that each month has 25 reading days which helps with not getting behind since you have extra days each month.
Enjoy!

There really is no substitute for time in the Word, is there?

Nice to have a study to show us what we probably should have known already, however.
